Ella's Play Space

Since before Ella was born we were thinking about what her space would look like. Afterall, we got rid of the pool table for this space, so it better be good. We had a hard time finding the storage bins we were imagining.

In the meantime, Scott took an old Jim Beam barrel, that our neighbor generously gave us from her garage sale, and turned that into Ella's library. He also chopped off the bottom of an old cooler we had stored in the shed and creatively turned it into Ella's Toy Box.

Finally, the best part. After a couple of IKEA visits and lots of time searching the World Wide Web for "Kid's Storage," the answer for our storage conundrum was with Scott's Mom. She had cubes that her Dad, Howard, had built in 1971 for her when she went to college. The cubes lasted through Scott's childhood, Tyler's childhood and are now going to be part of Ella's. All we did was give them a fresh coat of paint and add a plywood desk!
