Updated Pop Up Trailer

About five years ago Scott bought a slightly used pop-up trailer for $500. Over the years, he has certainly got his monies worth. We are in the process of turning that 'slightly used' trailer into a 'how cool is that!' trailer.

We updated the inside by: adding new floors, painting the cabinets, installing new hardware, adding metal to give additional support (and because it looks cool), reupholstering the cushions, installing bluetooth speakers, and lastly, replacing the electric fridge with a YETI cooler! Curtains will be added as Marcia is kindly sewing them for us!

We updated the outside by: adding metal supports, installing LED lighting, replacing the vent with an electric fan, giving it new 'shoes', and everything got a fresh coat of paint with new Skamper logos to boot.

A "New" Bedroom Set

Our bedroom furniture (two dressers, two nightstands, and one head board) was a pecan stained wood with very ornate hardware. The durability of the real wood was about all we liked. We attempted to turn dark and ornate into light and modern. After lots of sanding, staining, and adding new hardware, we have a bedroom set we both love!

Sun Basket

We tend to cook the same things each week and wanted to try to mix up our dinners. A friend told us about Sunbasket, a company that ships you three meals each week with delicious, fresh ingredients along with easy to follow recipes. We have prepared foods that we never would have made before including: Thai turkey lettuce wraps and eggplant involtini with cucumber salad (shown below). It has made cooking so enjoyable!!

More metal...

We loved the metal accent near the pool table so much that we decided to wrap it around the wall. We added a small shelf on top for drinks. It just so happened that our neighbor was selling the Jim Beam corner barrel that fit perfectly. While we were on the metal kick, we added industrial hooks for our hiking packs.

Christmas Time 2015

We had a great Christmas with all the fixings: Gingerbread houses, homemade eggnog, our first Christmas dinner hosted at the house, and some day trips with the family.   Merry Christmas!
